About Me

I am passionate about family history and have been a professional researcher for the last twenty years. During this time it has been a great pleasure to see the interest and delight as people learn and understand more about their ancestors and family roots.

Having undertaken numerous courses of study, some as listed below, I am a Qualified Genealogist, holding the Pharos/Society of Genealogists Intermediate Certificate in Family History Skills and Strategies.

My aim is to always provide a professional service using proven approaches to finding your family. To ensure I am skilled in the profession’s best techniques I maintain an on-going programme of continuing professional development.

I have trained in researching the following areas:

  • Wills and Administration in England and Wales

  • Military Ancestors
  • Research Before the Modern Census

“Muriel said that we would make the journey together to find my ancestors, and that was exactly what happened.”

– W. Howlett. Bucks

“For years my sister and I struggled that we never knew what happened to our father and sister or where they were laid to rest. Finding out what actually happened and being able to visit their graves has brought closure and peace after sixty years of heartache.”

  – J. Williams. Devon

I cover the whole of England using on-line databases and, as I live close to London, I am able to access the wonderfully comprehensive archives that are located in the capital and surrounding counties.

It is my pleasure to work closely with my clients to ensure that I fully understand what they would like to discover from the research. For some it is simply to understand how their ancestors lived, for others, particularly where there have been family break downs, it is to help them to discover the facts and come to terms with events that happened. Where required I can also help with tracing living relatives using the latest social media methods.

I am a member of the Society of Genealogists and am registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office to hold personal information and to ensure confidentiality for my clients.
